Our Philosophy

The intelligence of the body is our greatest tool

At Regenerate Acupuncture, we believe healing is not something done to the body — it is something done with it. Our philosophy is rooted in a simple truth: when the body's energy flows freely, it heals itself.

Understanding Qi

Acupuncture is one of the oldest, most commonly used forms of medicine in the world

Originating in China more than 2,500 years ago, acupuncture is currently one of the most thoroughly researched, practiced and respected forms of complementary medicine available anywhere.

According to the treatment principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine, your overall health is determined by the quality of the Qi (energy) flow through the natural pathways of your body — the meridians. Illness results when there is too much or too little Qi, creating blockage or stagnation. Acupuncture uses a variety of techniques, including placing very thin sterile needles into specific points on the body, to stimulate and improve your Qi flow.

Acupuncture is very effective at helping support the immune system and keeping you as healthy as possible. It can strengthen a weakened immune system by increasing red and white cell counts, T-cell count, and enhancing humoral and cellular immunity.

Acupuncture can regulate immune function and treat the underlying cause of disease by reducing symptoms, speeding up the healing of infection, and normalizing the body's immune response. There are several acupuncture points and specific techniques that bolster your immune response while alleviating stress and anxiety. Your body becomes stronger, and your mind relaxes.

Energy & Matter

Where art meets ancient medicine

Dr. Bezemer's fascination with Taoist philosophy — particularly the interplay of energy and matter — has shaped both her art and her medicine for over two decades.

The paintings in her practice are not decoration. They are visual explorations of the same questions she addresses clinically: How does energy crystallize into form? How does the body hold memory, trauma, and vitality? What does it look like when a system comes back into balance?

This is the spirit in which she approaches every patient — as both a clinician and an artist, bringing technical precision and deep perceptual sensitivity to every session.

Core Principles

What we believe

The body heals itself

We don't heal our patients — we create the conditions for their body to heal itself. The body possesses an innate intelligence that, when unobstructed, knows exactly what to do.

Everything is connected

In Chinese medicine, there are no isolated symptoms. A knee problem may trace back to a kidney imbalance. Anxiety may manifest as digestive distress. We treat the whole person.

Root before branch

Lasting healing requires identifying and treating the root cause. We address what created the problem, not just what the problem created. This is what makes results last.

Prevention is medicine

In classical Chinese medicine, the ideal physician treats illness before it appears. Regular acupuncture is a powerful tool for those who intend to stay well.

Art meets science

Dr. Bezemer's background as a painter informs her clinical practice. Healing requires both technical precision and intuitive perception — the ability to see patterns, feel energies, and respond.

Ancient wisdom, modern tools

We honor the 2,500-year tradition of Chinese medicine while embracing evidence-based modalities like Low-Level Laser Therapy. The best medicine draws from all available wisdom.

The Meridian System

Your body's energy network

The meridian system is a network of 12 primary channels through which Qi flows to nourish and regulate every organ, tissue, and function in the body. When these channels are open and flowing, health is maintained. When they become blocked — by stress, injury, emotion, or diet — disease emerges downstream.

Acupuncture needles are placed at specific points along these meridians to clear blockages, redirect energy, and restore the natural communication between the body's systems.
